What is a Shaman?

A shaman is someone who has the ability to move between the every-day visible world of form and matter and the invisible worlds of energy and spirits in other times and other dimensions.

John Paul says, "My shamanic abilities enable me to perceive subtle frequencies in alternate realities and to tune into those frequencies in order to explore, dialogue and translate relevant information, wisdom and experiences that can help and heal things in this reality."

Insight into a shaman's life
The crew asks JP lots of questions...

Shamanism is a spiritual practice, not a religious one. Shamanism is the belief in the first-hand, direct experiences of the supernatural, whereas Religion is the belief in the supernatural experiences of someone else.

In John Paul’s tradition of Shamanism:

  • there are no churches

  • shamans are not evangelical

  • shamans do not recruit

  • people are called to this work as adjuncts of their own spiritual paths

  • shamans gather to honour major occasions in the solar and lunar cycles. e.g. solstices, equinoxes, new moons.

 Site-Whispering is like a spirit CB radio

John Paul often uses the metaphor of a radio to describe his practice of site-whispering. His site-whispering or channelling is a heightened sense of connectivity tuning in to subtle frequencies present at a particular locale. Many people assume it’s a trance state - it is not. It’s a state of heightened connection. When John Paul tunes in to a particular frequency at a particular location, more associations are being made, more connections are being made. He is processing information or recognising information and delivering information from a very precise high-level frequency.  As he maintains this connection a conversation can be conducted with questions and answers flowing both ways.

"When I visit a site, I tune into the frequency of that site.  There are multiple frequencies:

a variety of times;

a variety of plants;

a variety of animals;

stones and crystals;

spirits anchored to this location;

spirits who guard this location  etc.

Just like a radio, I can tune into any of the frequencies.  My gift is being able to move the dial to pick up a particular signal and then like a CB radio, I can engage in a live dialogue between our world and theirs."
