In Episode One we will visit the Anasazi ruins of Chaco Canyon in New Mexico, comprised of large stone and wood structures containing up to 700 rooms and located next to ceremonial round stone chambers, known as kivas which were dug into the earth. Archaeologists know the people who built these complexes only stayed here for about 300 years, so who were these ancient architects, why did they build these structures and for what purposes?
